EU Aktivitäten am BG/BRG Judenburg

4th Planet Earth Day at the BG/BRG Judenburg On the 22 nd April 2024 students of class 4c of the BG/BRG Judenburg celebrated the 4 th Planet Earth Day and carried out several activities in order to make aware of environmental challenges of our society. Together with their teacher Mag. a Stefanie Hoffelner-Duer(chemistry/geography) they had prepared two different projects concerning plastic waste and plastic waste reduction.  

On the 14 th February the students of class 4e carried out the 3 rd plastic trash collection at the school. In their last lesson of the day (6 th lesson) they collected all plastic trash they found at school and in all classes and weighed their findings. All in all they found 3,54 kg of plastic trash. This is a   massive reduction compared to the plastic trash they had found in the previous weighing. In the future they 4 th graders will carry out one more “Plastic Pirates go Europe” water analysis and one final plastic trash collection within the Eramsus+ project “Deplastify the Planet”. https://letschallengethefu.wixsite.com/deplastifytheplanet1 https://sites.google.com/view/erasmus-bgbrg-judenburg/home?authuser=1  

Auswertung der Ergebnisse an der Boku Wien  Am 6. November des Vorjahres waren die 4C- und die 4E-Klasse, begleitet von Frau Professor Bachler, Frau Professor Hofellner-Duer und Frau Professor Gergely, wie bereits berichtet, nahe des Kraftwerkes Fisching in die Uferzone der Mur gegangen, um dort im Rahmen des Plastic Pirates Project Müll zu sammeln (siehe Blog).   

Am 6.November machten die 4C und 4E Klasse einen Spaziergang zur Mur zum Kraftwerk Fisching, um dort über das Projekt „Plastic Pirates go Europe“ nach Müll Ausschau zu halten. Ausgestattet mit Handschuhen, Müllsäcken und allen notwendigen Materialien wurden wir in Gruppen eingeteilt, wobei jede Gruppe eine andere Aufgabe hatte. Die eine Gruppe suchte im Wald und am Ufer der Mur nach Abfall, während die andere Gruppe wirklich nur spezielle Abschnitte nach Müll untersuchte und dies auch genau dokumentierte. Die dritte Gruppe berechnete die Fließgeschwindigkeit der Mur und suchte mithilfe eines Netzes, das sie ans Brückengeländer der Mur festgebunden hatte, nach schwimmendem Müll und Mikroplastik.

2nd Planet Earth Day, July 4th, 2023 Activity 1: Collection   and selection of plastic bottles Students from the BG/BRG Judenburg had collected plastic bottles for several months in the bin in form of a huge whale. On the 2 nd Planet Earth Day the teacher Bernd Fiechtl had a workshop with a group of students from the 4 th grade in which students discussed the amount of plastic bottles that had been collected at school and also the danger of plastic for the environment in general. 

Im Rahmen des Erasmus+ Projektes „Deplastify the Planet“ - ein EU-Projekt mit Partnern aus Belgien, Kroatien, Portugal, Spanien und den Niederlanden - hat das BG/BRG Judenburg vom 01. Februar – 15. April 2023 in allen Klassen zu einer Plastikflaschenstoppelsammelaktion aufgerufen. Ziel dieser Aktion war die Bewusstseinsbildung, wie sehr unsere Umwelt negativ von Plastik beeinflusst wird und welche Rolle Plastikflaschenstoppel dabei spielen.     

The BG/BRG Judenburg is participating in the E+ Project “Deplastify the Planet” together with 5 partners from Belgium (coordinator), Spain, Portugal, Croatia and The Netherlands. The main goal of this project is to raise awareness of the danger of plastic pollution and reduce plastic trash.
