Berichte Schüler*innen:
Day 1:
Our First Day at School
At 7:50 in the morning, we had our first time together. We all met in the classroom and talked about the plan for the week. Our teachers explained what we would do during the next days and what activities were planned. After that, we played a getting-to-know-you game called “Find Someone Who”. In this game, we walked around the room and asked our classmates questions. This helped us learn more about each other and feel more comfortable.
Next, we played Musical Chairs. In every round, one chair was taken away, and we had to be very fast. Everyone was laughing, and the game was very exciting. After that, we had a break, where we could eat something and talk with our friends.
Later, we went to the gym. There, we played more getting-to-know-you games. The games were very funny, and we worked well together. In the fourth lesson, some children had to write a test (IKM). The Spanish students were allowed to do more sports activities, which they really enjoyed.
Afterwards, we worked in groups of four. We had to answer questions about the school, for example what color the bench at the secretary’s office is. Then we had some free time and played Imposter, which was very funny. Later, we ate pizza, and everyone liked it a lot. Before school ended, we had a workshop about the 17 goals of the world, where we learned important things.
At 3:00 p.m., school ended, and we went home. In the afternoon, many children met again. Lilli, Leon, Valentina, Pau, Carina, Eric, Sophie, Hugo, Tina, and Hector met and played card games together. They talked, laughed, and had a great time. Other children also met in small groups, went outside, played games, or just spent time together.
Overall, it was a very nice, fun, and successful first day
Day 2:
Its Tuesday, the 16th of Deventer and today our Spanish exchange students are staying with us at Graz. We spent the whole day together and experienced many exciting activities. In the morning, we met at 7:50 and started our trip with a bus ride. Everyone was excited and happy to spend time together, and the bus journey was fun.
After arriving, we began climbing the Schlossberg. The walk up was a little exhausting, but it was worth it. At the top, we looked at the famous Uhrturm and enjoyed the beautiful view over the city. We took many photos and then had a short break. During the break, we ate our snacks and talked together.
After that, we went down the Schlossberg and walked through the city. We visited the Christmas market, where there were many lights, decorations, and nice smells. The atmosphere was very nice and everyone enjoyed it. Later, we went shopping for one hour. Many of us bought souvenirs or small gifts.
Then we looked at a beautiful ice sculpture, which was very impressive. Around midday, we had lunch in an Italian restaurant. The food was very tasty, and we had a nice time together.
In the afternoon, we drove to the Lumagica Lichterpark. The lights were colorful and magical, and the park was very beautiful. We stayed there for about 45 minutes and took many pictures. In the evening, we went back home by bus. At home, we had dinner, talked about the day, and then went to sleep, tired but very happy.
Day 3:
Report on the Trip to the Lachtal
In the morning, we met for departure at 7:50 a.m. After a bus ride of about 45 minutes, we arrived near the Lachtal area. From there, we started our walk towards the Lachtal Hut. The hike was pleasant, and we enjoyed the beautiful winter scenery along the way.
At halfway to the hut, we made a stop for sledging. This was a lot of fun and created a great atmosphere within the group. After the break, we continued our walk.
When we arrived at the Lachtal Hut, we noticed that it was closed. Nevertheless, we had our snack break (Jause) there, which lasted about 15 minutes. This gave us time to rest and regain our energy.
Afterwards, we started walking back to the bus. Shortly before reaching the bus, we made two more stops for sledging, which was another highlight of the day. Before the skiers left, we visited another hut to warm up.
We departed for Judenburg at 1:00 p.m. and arrived at around 2:00 p.m.. The rest of the afternoon was spent with our host family, which was a relaxing and enjoyable end to the day.
Overall, it was a very successful trip with many fun moments and great experiences.
Day 4:
Our Erasmus day started in the morning at school and was filled with many different activities, lessons, and experiences together with the Spanish students. It was a long but very interesting and enjoyable day.
In the first two lessons of the morning, we worked on a creative project with Mr. Ofner. We designed our own Erasmus bags. First, we painted the letters by hand, which required a lot of concentration and patience. After that, we used stamps to print the letters onto the bags. Everyone’s bag looked different and very unique. The activity was a lot of fun, and the final results looked really cool. It was a great way to start the day and to work creatively together.
After these two lessons, we had a short break and ate our snacks. Then we went back to the classroom for the next three lessons. In history class, we had to write a test. While we were working on the test, the Spanish students were allowed to leave the classroom. After the test was finished, we sang songs together, which created a relaxed and positive atmosphere.
Next, we had geography class. During this lesson, the Spanish students worked on a separate assignment, while we received our geography test back. It was interesting to see how the Erasmus students worked on different tasks at the same time. After geography, we had German class. The Spanish students continued working on their assignment, and we took a group photo for our class teacher. This was a nice moment and a good memory of our Erasmus experience.
Later in the morning, we started working on an important project about the Sustainable Development Goals. We had to write one example for each goal and think about how these goals are connected to real life. This task made us think a lot about global problems and sustainability. It was very educational and meaningful.
After finishing the project, we went to lunch. For lunch, there was lasagna, which tasted very delicious. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and it gave us enough energy for the afternoon activities.
After lunch, we went into the city. Our task was to find a suitable place in the city for each example from the Sustainable Development Goals. At every location, we had to take a selfie where both we and the place could be seen. This activity was very fun and also challenging because we had to think creatively and work together as a group.
School ended at 3:30 p.m., and we were dismissed. In the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., we met again to go bowling with the others. We played on two bowling lanes and had a lot of fun together. There was a lot of laughing, and it was a great way to spend time with the Erasmus students outside of school.
After bowling, we went out to eat pizza together. The pizza was very good, and because of that, we were not hungry anymore in the evening. It was a perfect ending to such a long and exciting day.
In the evening, we went to bed at around 9:00 because we were very tired.
