Sprachkurs in Tenerifa

Vom 09. Juli 2023 bis 15. Juli 2024 nahm Prof. Mag. Andrea Zechner an einem Sprachkurs in Spanien/Tenerifa an der ELA - Erasmus Learning Academy SL teil.

Hier eine Zusammenfassung Ihrer Erlebnsisse:

Day 1: Today marked the beginning of our language course. We kicked off with an introduction to the course, followed by some engaging teambuilding exercises. These activities helped us get to know each other better as we shared personal information like our names and an adjective that describes us. We also created ID cards as part of the “Sobre mí” activity. Next, we evaluated our needs and expectations for the course.

The vocabulary lesson focused on how to present ourselves and talk about our jobs. We dove into Spanish grammar, covering pronombres, determinantes posesivos, and the differences between “ser” and “estar.” We practiced using the present tense, including regular verbs and the verb “ser,” and learned how to ask for and give directions. The day was rounded off with various speaking, listening, and writing exercises.

Day 2: Our vocabulary for the day revolved around culture and traveling. We discussed places we'd like to visit, famous artists and athletes, and well-known Spanish brands. We continued to build our grammar skills, followed by more speaking, listening, and writing exercises.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a cultural activity where we learned about a traditional religious festival honoring the Virgin Carmen, the patron saint of fishers. This provided a rich cultural context to our language learning.

Day 3: Today’s focus was on hobbies and free time. We shared how we spend our free time and discussed our favorite activities. Using Jamboard, we each explained our hobbies to the group, which was a fun and interactive way to practice our vocabulary.

We continued with grammar lessons and further honed our listening and writing skills. The highlight of the day was a cultural visit outside the venue's city. We explored El Teide, visited traditional villages, and learned about the local flora and fauna, which was a fantastic opportunity to apply our language skills in a real-world context.

Day 4: The theme today was the world of work. We expanded our vocabulary related to jobs and practiced presenting our professions. We engaged in a job interview simulation, which was both challenging and rewarding. An exciting activity called VOCAB BUZZER had us miming and guessing different jobs, making the learning process dynamic and fun.

Day 5: Today, we discussed dreams and the future. We learned vocabulary related to future planning and dreaming. A paired activity helped us practice telling time in Spanish. The grammar lessons focused on the Préterito Imperfecto and Préterito Indefinido tenses. We learned their conjugations and uses, including how to use the imperfect tense as a form of courtesy. We created sentences using both tenses to reinforce our understanding.

We also explored the simple future tense and participated in a speaking exercise where we shared our childhood dreams and future aspirations. This session included listening and creative writing exercises. Lastly, we learned vocabulary related to housing in Spain, which was very practical and engaging.
